Opportunities to join the Scottish Fuel Poverty Advisory Panel

Deadline: 1 September 2025

The Cabinet Secretary for Housing is seeking to appoint 2 x panel members to the Scottish Fuel Poverty Panel (SFPAP). The advert for panel members is now live at Appointment of Members to the Scottish Fuel Poverty Advisory Panel – Scottish Government Recruitment Careers and contains further details on the roles available, including the remuneration rates.

The Scottish Fuel Poverty Advisory Panel is statutory advisory Non-Departmental Public Body, which plays an important role in providing independent and expert advice and scrutiny to Scottish Ministers on fuel poverty and progress towards our statutory targets.

These appointments offer an exciting opportunity to anyone who is interested in becoming personally involved in driving the changes required to tackle the issues and inequalities driving fuel poverty in Scotland and make a lasting difference to the lives of people and communities across Scotland. To make sure the SFPAP has the right mix of skills and a broad range of experience we are keen to hear from candidates from different backgrounds with different points of view and experience.

If you are interested in finding out more about the roles, the skills required and the application process please visit the advert where you will find an application pack with further details. Applications for both roles will be accepted from 5 August 2025 to 1 September 2025.

The SFPAP Secretariat will be running a more detailed information session on the Panel’s role and the work it does on Tuesday 12th August 10:00-11:00 am online on Microsoft Teams. This session is for information only and does not form part of the selection process.
