Join us for dinner and the sixth annual Fuel Poverty Awards as we gather the nation’s foremost experts and policy makers to discuss how Scotland can ensure that fuel poor and vulnerable households are at the heart of policy making.
Sessions include:

• An Energy System That Works for Everyone
• Ultra Vulnerability & Financial Exclusion
• Ministerial Session with Màiri McAllan MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Housing, Scottish Government
• Getting Support to Those Who Need It

As well as the plenary sessions, delegates will have the opportunity to attend and participate in two of the following breakout sessions. Delegates will hear from and interact with experts in facilitated workshops to help identify ideas, and good practice to inform the development of policy to help eliminate fuel poverty:

Breakout 1: EPC Reform
Join academics and experts for a workshop that aims to create a better understanding of EPC reform. Change is widely believed to be long overdue but what might change look like and where will see improvements to an inflexible system that has, to date failed to reflect the challenge of retrofitting Scotland’s housing stock?

Breakout 2: Tariffs and Network Flexibility
This workshop aims to support better understanding of the RTS switch off which has shone a light on tariffs as Scotland loses its only dedicated tariffs for type of use. What has changed on the tariff landscape and what possibilities exist for households facing network challenges?

Breakout 3: Life Expectancy Declines: A Whodunnit
Professor Gerry McCartney, co-author of Social Murder? Austerity and Life Expectancy in the UK joins NEA Chief Executive, Adam Scorer for a fireside chat about the impact of austerity policies across the UK and how research shines a light upon Government and media messaging.

We are looking forward to meeting up with colleagues and members and sharing inspiration as we look for solutions to the avoidable consequences of endemic fuel poverty in Scotland.
