Energy Action Scotland Annual Conference 14 and 15 November 2024
We will be coming together on 14 and 15 November 2024 for our Annual Conference at the Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel in Clydebank.
Join us for dinner and the Annual Fuel Poverty Awards as we gather the nation’s foremost experts and policy makers to discuss how Scotland can meet the needs of the most vulnerable households.
Sessions include:
- Upstream: where do we need to intervene in order to save lives?
- Retrofit: Bridging the Skills Gap
- Ministerial Session
- Making It Right, Making It Fair
As well as the plenary sessions, delegates will have the opportunity to attend and participate in two of the following breakout sessions. Delegates will hear from and interact with experts in facilitated workshops to help identify ideas, and good practice to inform the development of policy to help eliminate fuel poverty:
Breakout 1: Understanding the Retrofit Funding Environment
A workshop to create a better understanding of the different funding routes to support fuel poor households through retrofit covering Scottish Government programmes, Warmer Homes Scotland, the area based schemes and the Energy Company Obligation. Hear from Home Energy Scotland, Warmworks, local government and from energy industry experts.
Breakout 2: Fuel Poverty Strategy
Colleagues from across the UK will share their experiences and good practice in the development and revision of fuel poverty strategies in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
Breakout 3: Working with vulnerable households
Colleagues from National Energy Action and organisations in Scotland working with vulnerable health compromised households share their experiences of providing support and securing beneficial outcomes to protect and improve the quality of lives. Features project experiences funded through the Vulnerability and Carbon Monoxide Allowance funded by the gas networks in Britain.
We are looking forward to meeting up with colleagues and members and sharing inspiration as we look for solutions to the avoidable consequences of endemic fuel poverty in Scotland.
